So this past Monday, I found out that Deloitte picked me as one of the 250 people around the country selected to go to their National Leadership Conference, and the only person from my 30,000-person university. The way I see it, this is a short-term goal I wanted to achieve in order to reach my longer-term goal of securing a good job after college. It’s good to finally know that the cogs are finally spinning on the way to that goal.
It also puts a lot less stress on me as the last half of the semester begins to pile on loads of exams. Within the next week, I face two exams, an essay, and a 10-minute presentation on nuclear warfare. It’s good to know that amidst all the chaos of these deadlines and assignments, I have some comfort knowing what the future holds. At least, for three days this summer, I know what it holds. I can’t speak for my study abroad trip to France and Germany between May and July, though.
